Partners will identify Mediterranean agri-food supply chains that are both economically strategic and highly vulnerable to water stress. Technical and economic data will be collected to calculate their Water Footprint (blue, green, grey) and Virtual Water across the entire production cycle.
Effluents will be qualitatively and quantitatively characterized to assess environmental impact and recovery potential.
A shortlist of effluents will be selected based on impact, availability, composition, and feasibility, serving as the basis for lab-scale and pilot-scale valorization activities.
